As a Data Engineer you work in teams with different disciplines on digitization projects for clients, including people from the client’s side. You adjust code from the data scientist resulting in code that can handle the data flows to get solid results. You are able to translate a data science solution to data requirements.
You will work here
You will work in a team of seven consisting of one chief data scientist, one analyst translator, one chief data engineer, four data scientists. Meetings with different disciplines and stakeholders internally and externally. Internal with members of your team and other teams when working on cross-functional projects. External with stakeholders that are often one step below C-level or with stakeholders that actually do the work (e.g. marketeers) and with IT to implement solutions.
Your qualifications
A Master’s Degree in a technical discipline or study with heavy technical/statistical components or with an extensive track record of self study into data engineering, programming, etc. also eligible (e.g. Coursera, has an active Kaggle account, filled Git profile).
5 or more years of experience in data engineering or machine learning engineering.
Setting up data pipelines (ETL) and preparing data for data analysis and/or modeling. Extracting data through API’s etc.
Ability to work with a Cloud platform (Google Cloud or Azure).
Design data architecture based on client needs, includes defining a data model.
Develop data science products (e.g. robust data solutions that extract and output data in an automated manner).
High quality programming in Python and SQL, object oriented and/or functional programming.
Deep knowledge of cloud solutions such as Google or Azure.
Skills in Scala and or Java are nice to have.
Being able to guide a team of junior data engineers.
Being able to translate a data science solution to data requirements
English should be on a professional level.
Preferably a Dutch candidate or a Dutch speaking, or at least in some way rooted in the Netherlands
